Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about how SG Streets works, where its data comes from, and what happens to your information.
Is SG Streets free to use?
Yes. SG Streets is completely free, has no account or login, and carries no ads.
Where does the data come from?
Bus, road, camera and rail data come from LTA DataMall, Singapore's official land transport data service. Flight data comes from AirLabs. Map tiles and routing come from OneMap, run by the Singapore Land Authority.
How often does the data update?
Bus arrivals refresh every 20 seconds, traffic incidents and rail alerts every 30 seconds, and congestion levels and camera images every 60 seconds.
Does SG Streets store my location?
No. Location is only used, on your own device, after you tap "Near me" in the header and grant your browser's permission prompt. It is never sent to or stored on SG Streets' servers — see the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
How do I find my bus stop code?
Every Singapore bus stop has a 5-digit code printed on its signpost. Enter it on the Bus Arrivals page, or allow location access to see every stop within 500 metres of you automatically.
Can I see how crowded the next bus is?
Yes. Each arriving bus shows a crowding level from LTA — seats available, standing available, or limited standing — plus whether it's single deck, double deck, bendy, or wheelchair-accessible.
Which expressways does Road Watch cover?
All Singapore expressways, including the PIE, CTE, AYE, ECP, KPE, SLE, BKE, TPE, KJE and MCE.
How do I check the Woodlands or Tuas Checkpoint queue?
The Cameras page shows live traffic camera images from both checkpoints, refreshed continuously from LTA.
Is SG Streets affiliated with LTA, SMRT or Changi Airport?
No. SG Streets is an independent project that reads the same public APIs those organisations make freely available. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government agency or transport operator.
Can I self-host SG Streets?
Yes. It's plain PHP with no framework, database or build step — drop it on any PHP 8.1+ host and set your free API keys. See the About page for details.
How do I report a bug, outage or wrong data?
Use the Contact Us page — messages go straight to the site operator, and a real person reads them.
