About SG Streets

Getting a full picture of Singapore's roads and transit today means checking five different apps. SG Streets puts all of it on one live-updating dashboard — no account required, no app to download.

What it covers

🚌

Bus Arrivals

Real-time ETAs at any bus stop islandwide — enter a 5-digit stop code and see the next three buses per service, refreshed every 20 seconds.

🚧

Road Watch

Expressway speed bands per LTA's sensor network, plus a live incident feed of accidents, breakdowns, roadworks and heavy-traffic advisories.

📷

Checkpoint Cameras

Live camera images at Woodlands and Tuas Checkpoints so you can check queue length before driving up. Expressway cameras included too.

🚇

MRT / LRT Status

Line-by-line service alerts across all nine rail lines — North South, East West, North East, Circle, Downtown, Thomson-East Coast, and the Bukit Panjang, Sengkang and Punggol LRT lines.

✈️

Flight Board

Arrivals and departures at Changi Airport (SIN), with airline, route, terminal, gate and live status for every flight.

🧭

Directions

Compare estimated driving time against public transit for any two points in Singapore, side by side.

🕌

Qibla & Prayer Times

The direction to face for prayer from your exact location, with an optional live compass mode on supported phones — plus Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha for the same spot, with a live countdown to the next one.

🌓

Dark & Light View

Switch between Dark View and Light View at any time from the header toggle. Your choice is remembered on your next visit.

Data sources

LTA DataMall
Bus arrivals, road incidents, speed bands, traffic cameras, train alerts
Free API from Singapore's Land Transport Authority. Register at datamall.lta.gov.sg — approval is near-instant.
AirLabs
Flight arrivals and departures — Singapore Changi Airport (SIN)
Free tier gives 1,000 requests/month with full HTTPS support. Register at airlabs.co — no credit card needed.
OneMap
Routing and geocoding for the Directions feature
Singapore Government's official mapping service at onemap.gov.sg. Free for routing queries.
Al Adhan API
Prayer time calculations for the Prayer Times feature
Free, no-key API at aladhan.com. The Qibla direction is calculated directly in your browser — no external service involved.

Design language

The visual language is drawn from real Singapore road infrastructure. The amber scrolling ticker mimics the dot-matrix advisory signs on LTA's EMAS expressway gantries. The rail status page uses the exact official line colors — red for North South, green for East West, purple for North East, orange for Circle, blue for Downtown, brown for Thomson-East Coast. The flight and bus displays are styled after the split-flap and LED signage you see in person at bus stops and airport terminals. Those "device" elements stay dark in both Light and Dark View — because the real hardware they represent doesn't change with the time of day.

Open source & self-hostable

SG Streets is plain PHP — no framework, no database, no build step. Drop the files on any PHP 8.1+ host, set your free API keys as environment variables, and it runs. Every LTA- and AirLabs-backed board degrades gracefully to demo mode with realistic sample data when a key is missing, so you can run and explore most of the site locally before signing up for anything. Routing is the one exception on principle: Directions, Send Route Alert and the mosque routing panel would rather show an honest "not configured yet" notice than a plausible-looking distance or time that was never actually calculated.
